What is a plant-based diet?
According to the Harvard Medical School
A plant-based or plant-forward eating patterns focus on foods primarily from plants. This includes fruits and vegetables, but also nuts, seeds, oils, whole grains, legumes, and beans. It doesn’t mean that you are vegetarian or vegan and never eat meat or dairy. Rather, you are proportionately choosing more of your foods from plant sources.
How can a plant based lifestyle help?
One person going vegan for one year will:
Stops five people from starving
Reduces 3,267 pounds of CO2 emissions
Saves 25 lives (24 chickens, .01 sheep, .5 pig, .4 cow)
Save the Environment
Going one year without paper saves 8.5 trees. Going one year without beef save 3,432 trees.
Decrease Your Carbon Footprint
Research shows that adopting a vegan diet could reduce an individual’s carbon footprint from food by up to 73%.
Increase Your Energy Levels
Being a vegan is not a trend, it’s an awakening. Feel better from the inside out.
